Pet questions
Hi
I've just changed my 2nd Proffesion to Ranger and got myself a nice Moa Bird But since I'm new to Rangers and Pets I've got 2 questions about them. 1. Which pet is the tallest? I guess a Moa Bird or a Strider, but I'm not really sure. 2. When does the pet get experience? If I complete a quest? If I kill a creature that gives me 0 experience? Thanks EDIT: I was just playing and trying to lvl up my pet (he's lvl 4 now ! ) but I found out that if your pet dies all your skills are disabled for a few seconds.. So I think I'll get rid of the pet after all. Last edited by Maxiemonster; Jul 27, 2005 at 02:57 PM // 14:57.. |

The Moa is the tallest.
As for experience I'm not sure, but I would think that it would gain experience based on its level and not yours. |

Well, the lvl'ing seems to go quicker then I am, so I guess you're right on the experience. And I'm glad the Moa is that tallest I wonder how big he is on lvl 20

1. yes, moa bird will be the tallest you can get (no striders in post searing, but they are the same)
2. Pets only get exp from you killing, not from completing quests/missions. And, they get that exp based on THEIR level, not yours. So, yes, from 0 exp if they would still normally get some for their level. They DO get exp while 'dead', though, and the fastest way to level them is sometimes to just bring charm animal, let them die, and go about your business with high level mobs. |

The animals get bigger with every level, and I have seen warthogs taller than my monk.

Warthogs get taller than monks? Wow. I was thinking mine would be about hip-high.

I have a level 16 wolf pet and I'm level 17. But I think he gets more experience when I let him do the kill with a last blow (could be my imagination). I also remember once, that I didn't have him with me for a while and he really got behind with XP. I made him kill a lot of high-level monsters and he approached my XP again, while I didn't get hardly an XP. I'm 100% sure that a pet can get behind in XP compared to you and that you can let him approach your XP again. I had that several times. Sometimes he levels up when I'm half my level and sometimes he's more than a level behind.
